To avoid monotony while playing League of Legends, the community always finds unique choices and effective, yet hard-to-believe item builds. Below is a list of extremely powerful playstyles that are not widely used in patch 10.5:
Renekton – Top Lane

In team fights, Renekton’s ability to chase targets is extremely strong thanks to his ultimate that increases his durability and his E skill, Slice and Dice, which allows him to easily engage and stun his target.

Sadly, since the Shojin Spear vanished from League of Legends, Renekton has gradually “disappeared” as well. However, in the current chaotic meta, the community has found a way to bring Renekton back. This is thanks to the Blade of the Ruined King – an item that helps Renekton “chop down” any opponent, regardless of their health, due to the ability to rapidly trigger on-hit effects from his W.
Additionally, Renekton’s damage and healing capabilities significantly increase when using the Conqueror rune – becoming stronger the longer the fight lasts, especially in 1v1s against tank top laners. By the late game, Renekton will have up to 80% Tenacity to “go wild” in team fights thanks to Mercury’s Treads, supportive runes, and potions.
Kindred – Jungle

In the early game, Kindred will still jungle as usual, but the first two items will be Warrior Enchantment and Manamune. Kindred is already one of the strongest junglers in the late game, and with this build, Kindred will become even more powerful once the passive from Tear of the Goddess is fully stacked.

Moreover, Kindred must engage in fights early to accumulate Marks as early as possible to gain significant power in the late game. Therefore, the Press the Attack rune will give Kindred an advantage in quick skirmishes. The other runes are quite simple: they aim to increase maximum mana (which also increases damage due to Manamune), boost attack speed, and offer some economic benefits from free boots and the ability to borrow gold for items.
Finally, with two distinct build paths between critical strike attack speed and cooldown reduction, Kindred can choose according to each match. With the critical strike attack speed style, Kindred can deal burst damage with the risk associated with critical hits, while cooldown reduction will provide consistent damage over time.
Ryze – Mid Lane

Recently, Ryze has been declining in pick rates. However, with the Hextech Gunblade, many players will undoubtedly bring Ryze back into the game.

During the laning phase, Ryze will still build basic items like Rod of Ages, Archangel’s Staff, and then go for Rylai’s Crystal Scepter or Void Staff. However, with Hextech Gunblade replacing Zhonya’s Hourglass, Ryze can significantly increase his damage output without being immobilized for several seconds in fights. At the same time, the strong durability and healing from Rod of Ages, Archangel’s Staff, and Hextech Gunblade will also help Ryze become tanky and freely unleash damage in skirmishes. The activation from Hextech Gunblade also helps Ryze root targets, outplay in 1v1 situations, or simply slow opponents down to safely return home.
Senna and Tahm Kench – Bot Lane and Support

During the laning phase, Tahm Kench will be the main farmer to build durable items. If necessary, Tahm Kench can let opponents push high and farm under tower easily with his Q and W, waiting for the right moment to counterattack. As for Senna, besides her poking abilities, Senna can provide strong healing for Tahm Kench – who is a true tank now, rather than just a support as before.
When both combo their damage on a single target, this duo will have an advantage as Tahm Kench can swallow the opponent – preventing both sides from dealing damage. Interestingly, the time the opponent is swallowed will benefit Senna’s skill characteristics and attack speed.
In the late game, Senna will still deal damage like when playing as a marksman. Meanwhile, Tahm Kench, in addition to protecting Senna or other teammates, will be a “mobile meat shield” absorbing all damage for his team.
