While the balancing team of League of Legends is often the butt of jokes, the design team for skins and events at Riot Games has never let the gaming community down.
Just when it seemed like this year’s April Fools’ event had been set with the launch of two super cute skins for Tristana and Veigar, Riot dropped a bombshell at the last minute: the Urgot Cosmic Pajama skin project – a product from the Cosmic Guardian skin universe.
Yes! This is not a joke; in the still of the night, the creators of League of Legends officially released full images and information about Urgot Cosmic Pajama on the PBE server, including splash art, animations, in-game skill effects, and accompanying items.

Not stopping there, Riot also introduced a unique icon and emote specifically for Urgot, but honestly, the adorable look of this butcher in his new outfit is still a bit… unsettling.

In fact, Riot teased this skin in a way no one could have predicted, with Urgot appearing in the splash art of the newly released Tristana Penguin Knight skin. However, since there was no information available, most players overlooked this detail.

In reality, the idea for the Urgot Cosmic Guardian skin has been around for many years and has sparked lively discussions among the gaming community. However, Riot Games had initially extinguished this “absurd” idea, declaring that they would never release a Cosmic Guardian skin for Urgot when the line of Cosmic Guardian skins was launched last August.

And it must be emphasized that Riot has kept its strong statement, but this is truly a “display of cunning,” as there is no Urgot Cosmic Guardian skin at all; the correct name of this new skin is Urgot Cosmic Pajama.
This is indeed a clever move by Riot, as Cosmic Pajama also belongs to the Cosmic Guardian skin universe while the developers maintain their oath of “not designing Urgot Cosmic Guardian”. Hats off to the perseverance of the League of Legends skin design team, who spent half a year creating a “masterful deception” for the players.
To then receive a notification at the last minute stating that “the Urgot Cosmic Pajama skin has been removed” would… be a loss.
