Teamfight Tactics: Dominant Early Game Compositions to Help You Sustain Before Your Carry Emerges

In Teamfight Tactics, you need to focus on using powerful early game compositions to hold out until you can build your main team.

In Teamfight Tactics, there are many strong late-game compositions, but for various reasons, those compositions can be weak or difficult to build in the early game. Therefore, to maintain a stable amount of gold and health in the early stage, you should use strong early game compositions and gradually build your main team afterwards.

Here are some powerful compositions in the early game:

Super Technology + Brawler Composition

A composition consisting of 2 Snipers, 2 Brawlers, 2 Chrono, and 3 Super Tech

In this composition, the main damage dealer will be Lucian with 1 or 2 items. Among them, the Archangel’s Staff is the strongest item as it allows Lucian to spam skills very quickly and frequently in each round. As for the other champions, if you don’t use the Super Tech composition later, you can give each Super Tech champion a small (or large) item piece to activate the tribe’s passive. With 2 item pieces, Vi and Leona will be quite decent tanks at this stage.

Blitzcrank will pull high-damage but fragile champions from the back and take them down first; in addition, this champion is also very effective at tanking thanks to the health from Brawlers. Ezreal will be the secondary damage source, with a fairly strong skill and the ability to activate Chrono.

Infiltrator + Vanguard Composition

In this composition, the main damage dealer is Kai’Sa, with the ability to jump into the backline and continuously spam skills. Shaco will be the secondary damage source, whose main role is to activate the Infiltrator and Shadow traits.

With the trait’s passive, the 2 Vanguards initially gain 60 armor, so these champions should use items that increase magic resistance. For example, Jayce has fairly high basic skill damage, making him suitable for the Static Shiv or Iron Solari Chain (increasing magic damage and tanking ability). As for Mordekaiser, depending on the survival order of the Shadow champions, this champion will have one of the highest damage outputs in the composition.

Blademaster + Rebel Composition

A composition consisting of 2 Brawlers, 2 Chrono, 3 Blademasters, and 3 Rebels

In this composition, Master Yi will be the main damage source with 3 buffs for himself: damage + shield from Rebels, additional hits from Blademasters, and attack speed from Chrono. Regarding Master Yi himself, since his skill grants additional true damage, he doesn’t have to worry about facing “bulky” champions like Vanguards + Thornmail + Dragon’s Claw.

The other champions mainly serve to activate traits and tank, among which Blitzcrank will pull fragile targets in and eliminate them early. Additionally, Yasuo will jump into the enemy’s backline; these two champions will be great cards for causing chaos in the enemy’s backline.

Pirate + Vanguard Composition

A composition consisting of 4 Vanguards and 2 Pirates

In this composition, the ability to sustain damage from 4 Vanguards will be exceptional. However, magic resistance is the weakness of this composition, so you should use the Iron Solari Chain to mitigate that weakness.

The main damage source will be Darius, with the opportunity to take down opponents in a flash, along with the ability to “hack gold” to quickly reach 50 gold.

Mage Composition

A composition consisting of 4 Mages, 2 Chrono, and 3 Star Guardians

In this composition, the 4 Mages in the back will share the damage-dealing role among each other. In the front, Poppy will be the main tank, alongside Blitzcrank to pull fragile targets from behind while activating Chrono with Twisted Fate.
