April 1st, also known as April Fools’ Day, is a day when all sorts of “tricks” are accepted as playful jokes. Because of the popularity of this day, many game developers often release absurd announcements and content to join in the global trolling atmosphere.

Of course, Riot Games is not one to stand outside of this. If you didn’t know, the champion Lee Sin was one of those April Fools’ jokes. At that time, Riot Games released a champion spotlight clip where everything was blurry, and you couldn’t see anything—simply because Lee Sin is blind.
This year, Riot Games didn’t forget to carry on this tradition. They posted an article that looks extremely serious announcing the “Super Huge Plans for 2020” but the content is incredibly ridiculous. Not only for League of Legends or Teamfight Tactics, but even their less widely launched titles like Valorant, Legends of Runeterra, and League of Legends: Wild Rift were also brought out for jokes.

Gameplay and Champions
Aphelios will receive a new gun every time a post about this champion is made on Reddit.
Last hitting minions will automatically trigger a question mark ping.
Fixed a bug that caused picking Soraka to automatically change you to the top lane.
Placed no smoking signs in the side lane bushes.
Use our 200 years of champion design to make all champions with over 60% win rate.

Meta Game
Fixed a bug where post-game reports were inadvertently sent to someone who could resolve them.
Introduced the Clash system: 1v1 for players who insult each other in solo queue. The winner will be banned but so will the loser, but we will call their mom. Oh, and Clash: 1v1 will be updated slower in Western Europe due to server issues.
Found a way to let you know that you are just not good enough to reach Platinum rank.
Fixed a bug where Teamfight Tactics rank did not display when playing ranked League of Legends.

Skins and Events.
Every time someone posts “X days since champion Y had a skin” on Reddit, we will delay the production of that champion’s skin by another year.
Released the ASMR Bellissimoh notification pack.
Released the Phreak notification pack “Still mispronouncing Nidalee.”
Fixed a bug that caused the Pyromancer to be disabled during logins.

The next patch will address the LCK’s extremely low win rate in international tournaments.

Fixed a bug that caused buying the Morello’s Evil Tome to break Twitter.
Teamfight Tactics
Changed the movement direction of champions in the shared draft round.
Requested the League of Legends skin design team to make skins for one champion so much that they could create an entire version just for that champion (besides Lux).
Provided smarter observation features.
Banned all Iron rank players and sent notifications for them to play Legends of Runeterra.

Legends of Runeterra
Removed the Shadow Isles.
Added the Elnuks region.
Added a new keyword: TrueElusive.
Made Ruination automatically trigger Braum’s wave emote.
Increased experience for players playing from 1-5 AM.
Ranked divided into “Netdeckers” and “game trolls.”
Banned Iron rank players and sent them to play Teamfight Tactics.
League of Legends: Wild Rift
Reduced the minimum requirements to play League of Legends: Wild Rift down to Nokia 3310.

New feature: Ringtone.
Fixed a bug to ensure there are no more black screens that could accidentally lead to you seeing your own horrifying reflection.

Valorant
We used the entire game design phase to create the music and 128 tick servers for everyone, so now we can’t bring memes to you.
That’s okay, we never really wanted to make memes anyway.
VALORANT, not Valorant.
Riot Games
The office should add an “S” to the logo before April ends.
Autobattle games are really all of Riot’s games competing for the same number of players.
Indeed, Riot Games is quite “salty” to take advantage of this April Fools’ Day to roast everyone from players, Reddit forums, Esports teams, major regions of League of Legends, to themselves by saying that in the future, all of Riot’s games will compete against each other for players. Of course, all of the above are just announcements for April Fools’ Day, and you know what this day is about, don’t believe anyone, even if it’s the publisher.
