In the early hours of April 13, G2 Esports faced Origen in the lower bracket semifinals of the LEC Spring 2020 Playoffs. The final result saw Perkz and his teammates claim victory with a score of 3-1.
Overall, the match did not bring too many surprises. However, encounters featuring G2 are never lacking in laughter and high-level trash talk. In the match against Origen, G2 emerged victorious in terms of score but became the target of some playful banter in the “who can talk the loudest?” battle.
During the match, Origen’s support player Destiny had a lighthearted moment when he displayed the FunPlus Phoenix emblem in front of G2 Esports members. And speaking of FPX, the whole world knows they are the team that utterly destroyed G2 with three straight games in the finals of the 2019 World Championship held late last year.

A rather humorous detail is that Origen also lost miserably to G2 with a score of 1-3 in the recent match. Therefore, with the spirit of “talking big but knowing their place,” the admin of the OG Twitter account added a caption saying: “The photo was taken a few seconds before the disaster occurred,” hinting that just a few seconds later, G2 Esports achieved a winning team fight that obliterated OG’s lineup.
After the match, Perkz – the captain of G2, still seemed quite sore from the rival team’s taunt, as it reminded him of the painful “whitewash” at the World Championship. He boldly warned any opponents who dare to make G2 the butt of their jokes (only G2 is allowed to turn themselves into a joke, like that):

“Don’t make G2 angry; you won’t want to witness our wrath.”
After talking tough, he felt a bit uneasy when realizing he would face MAD Lions – the team that just defeated G2 3-2 in the first round of the playoffs:

With the victory over Origen, G2 Esports will face MAD Lions again in the lower bracket finals, with the winner securing a spot in the grand finals against Fnatic to determine the champion of LEC Spring 2020.
