Urgot’s Rise in TFT Season 13
After the release of patch 13.3, the meta of TFT Season 13 is shifting significantly towards the “Fast 9” playstyle and leveraging the value of 5-cost units, even 6-cost ones. This is due to a series of traits – origins with high activation thresholds being buffed, requiring players to attain higher levels to fully utilize them. This change inadvertently creates opportunities for some reroll strategies (which have not been nerfed previously), such as Urgot – Gunner, which can apply significant pressure in the mid-game and make it difficult for “Fast 9” teams to comfortably implement their compositions.

Furthermore, both Urgot and Tristana have received several buffs to their damage in previous patches. Combined with unusual upgrades that enhance their durability, Urgot will truly become a “tank” in the proper sense with massive damage and excellent survivability. This is seen as a solid counter to the “Fast 9” playstyle, as 5-cost carry units often lack the damage at one-star level to finish off Urgot.
Building the Urgot – Gunner Composition in TFT Season 13
In the early game, players should aim for strong one-cost units like Darius and Draven to maintain health. Combined with a one-star Urgot at level 4, players can achieve a relatively easy winning streak. Moreover, Draven is also an excellent holder of items for Tristana, allowing players to assemble Infinity Edge or Guinsoo’s Rageblade early for better snowballing potential.

By level 6, players should stop buying experience to upgrade Urgot to three stars as quickly as possible. Additionally, Tristana is also a worthwhile investment as she shares the same cost and benefits greatly from the Gunner effect. Players should also add strong three-cost units like Nunu, Gangplank, and Swain to activate important thresholds like 3 Experimenters, 2 Dual Forms, and Ironclad Fighters to maximize support for Urgot.

After reaching level 8, players should aim to complete the 4 Gunner threshold with Corki and Ezreal to add more damage. Additionally, Elise will be a strong addition to enhance durability and control for the composition. If players have plenty of gold and the Experimenters emblem, they can aim for level 9 and add Warwick to boost their chances of securing the top position.

Some Tips for Building the Composition
Urgot in this composition typically stands in the front line, so players should prioritize fighter items like Bloodthirster and Sterak’s Gauntlet. Therefore, players should also select the Beastmaster Emblem to give Urgot additional crowd control immunity when Sterak’s Gauntlet activates. Additionally, emblems that increase reroll speed or provide the Experimenters emblem are also very suitable for this composition.
