In the final match of the LCK Spring 2020 group stage, Gen.G Esports secured a dramatic victory over KT Rolster. This officially crowned them as the top of the table and allowed them to advance directly to the playoffs finals.
KT Rolster is certainly not an easy opponent, and Gen.G had to struggle hard to secure the win. After the match, the footage recorded at Gen.G’s Gaming House showed Ruler – their captain, breaking down in tears.
The reason for Ruler’s emotional outburst is that this is the first time this marksman has reached the finals of the LCK. Moreover, on a broader scale, securing a spot in the LCK Spring 2020 finals is also the first time in 6 years that Gen.G Esports – KSV – Samsung Galaxy has appeared in a Korean League of Legends final, following the golden generation of Samsung White and Samsung Blue.
For Ruler, although he has participated in 2 World Championship finals and won a title in 2017, ironically, this star has never experienced the feeling of becoming a Korean League of Legends champion, and has never competed in any finals.
Therefore, this achievement holds immense significance for Ruler, as this is not only the title he has long desired, but if he wins, he will also have the chance to reach another tournament he has never attended – MSI 2020.
