The FPL (short for FACEIT Pro League) is an in-house practice/competition environment organized by FACEIT for players at the highest level. Playing in FPL is a dream for many gamers as they not only get to train and compete against the best players in the world but also have the opportunity to earn significant amounts of money by performing well each month. This is also where many young talents have been discovered and given the chance to progress to professional play, such as ZywOo (Vitality), oBo (Complexity), frozen, and Ropz (Mousesports),…

However, recently, the FPL system has revealed weaknesses as some players have become overly focused on earning prize money and only want to play in top spots with high stats. Moreover, some players have even exhibited toxic behavior and a lack of respect towards their “elders,” leading some pro players like dev1ce, ropz, GeT_RiGhT, and NBK to feel uncomfortable and gradually abandon FPL.

Even S1mple and NIKo have plans to create a dedicated hub for pro players and entertainment streamers to have quality matches without encountering toxic players.

However, it must be said that part of the reason players are competing for top spots and focusing on high stats is due to the nature of the FPL system, where rewards are given to players with high win rates and good stats in the monthly leaderboard. For pro players competing for professional teams, this prize money may be insignificant, but for other players, it is one of their main sources of income, and their try-hard attitude and occasional toxicity can be understood; meanwhile, professional players want FPL to be a place where they can have relaxed yet quality games after intense and tiring official matches.

Morelz, who topped the FPL in March, received a prize of $4,500, a significant amount for players like him.
Last night, Faceit finally made decisive moves by unexpectedly kicking over 30 players from FPL, including some well-known names: ANGE1, RODEN, MODII, JUGi, Na`vi Junior’s IGL Aunkere, morelz (who just topped FPL in March), and Butters (who just joined 19 days ago),… This is one of the largest kick events in FPL history, and the sudden removal of players without any prior warning has left many of them feeling angry.
Faceit did not provide a reason for why these players were kicked, but there are typically three main reasons for this:
1. The player has been performing poorly and has had bad stats for a long time.
2. Exhibiting toxic behavior and a lack of respect towards other players.
3. Not being active for a long period.
The unexpected mass kicking of players, including those who had just joined recently (like Butters) or quality players like morelz, has led many to express disagreement and believe that this is merely a move to appease pro players and keep them in FPL. However, some pro players believe that those kicked should reflect on themselves and ask why they were kicked, instead of complaining about the admins’ decision.

Flusha shared his thoughts in a twitlonger: “While I think some players did not deserve to be kicked, I understand the reasons why. People only focus on criticizing the admins when they make mistakes while they are just trying to maintain FPL as a professional environment and make players feel comfortable and continue to play here.
Players who were kicked should ask themselves why they were kicked, even if you feel this decision was because ‘I played in a bad position’ or ‘I have a high K/D.’ You might have been kicked for being less communicative, exhibiting toxic behavior, or being a selfish player without a team spirit.
From my perspective, in the past year, most of those focused on playing FPL have only thought about their individual gameplay and focused on having good stats even if their teammates had to play in bad positions.
This is also the reason why most tier 1 players no longer play because we care more about quality than quantity, and we don’t want to play 5 games just to have 1-2 quality matches.”
In a recent development, Aunkere, the young talent from Na`vi Junior, has been requested by his elder S1mple to return to FPL for a one-week trial.
Is this a wise decision by Faceit to improve the quality of FPL or just a move to placate pro players who are considering leaving? Stay tuned for the latest and hottest CS:GO updates in our upcoming articles!
