In patch 10.8, new galaxies such as the Trading Post (free roll once each round) and the Tropical Galaxy (provides a free Natural Armor, helping you maintain a low level for rolling), along with the Neeko galaxy, have significantly increased players’ chances of obtaining 3-star “golden” compositions.
Here are the hottest 3-star compositions in the current meta for your reference:
“Super Energy” Star Guardian Composition
On the defensive front, Neeko will be a great stalling champion with the core item being Zz’Rot Portal – bringing the total health of both Neeko and the Voidling to nearly 6000 health to protect the backline. Soraka can also continuously heal the entire team thanks to the abundant energy from the tribe. Poppy simply acts as a “dummy” to activate 6 Star Guardians, and you can replace her with another champion if you have the Star Guardian item. Lulu also helps activate Mystic to increase magic resistance and counter any champions approaching your main damage dealers.
On the offensive side, Syndra will be an extremely powerful one-shot champion when reaching 3 stars. Conversely, Vel’Koz’s skill is not single-target but can clear the battlefield if it reaches 3 stars.
“Bluetooth” Master Yi Composition
Recently, a playstyle known as “Master Yi Bluetooth” has become extremely popular in the player community. Specifically, players will try to upgrade the champions Shen, Master Yi, Yasuo, and Sona to 3 stars. The main items for Master Yi will be Infinity Edge, Runaan’s Hurricane, and Guardian Angel. The true damage from Master Yi is enough to take down any champion as long as he doesn’t… die beforehand. Yasuo will focus on defense and speed buffs before charging forward, ensuring Master Yi isn’t quickly eliminated.
On the defensive front, Shen and Fiora will tank at the front for Yi to slice from behind. Karma will buff attack speed and provide shields for Yi, while Sona will cleanse any stuns or burn effects for the team. In the late game, you can add Thresh to activate the Revenant and Time Warp, while pulling down a crowd control champion to protect Yi.
Familiar “Xin Zhao World” Composition
Essentially, the main carries remain Xin Zhao and Rakan; as long as these two champions reach 3 stars with the core items (as shown in the image), you can confidently expect to be in the top 4. The reason is that these two champions are versatile in both offense and defense, capable of taking on all roles in the team, from crowd control, tanking, to dealing damage… The other champions that are typically prioritized to 3 stars are Sona, Neeko, and Soraka. In the late game, you can add Xerath to activate the Shadow, Ashe to activate 4 Celestials, or add Graves for blinding enemy champions depending on the situation.
Frontline Marksman Composition
In this composition, the top priority for reaching 3 stars is Jayce, so you need to maintain level 7 to maximize the chance of rolling 3-cost champions (easier with support from one of the three galaxies mentioned earlier). When reaching 3 stars, Jayce can achieve an all-around defense and offense with high armor, magic resistance, and damage. Alongside Jayce, champions that can be upgraded to 3 stars at level 7 include Mordekaiser and Ashe.
For the second carry, you can look for Wukong or Jhin at 2 stars (3 stars if the opportunity arises) and equip some suitable items. At that point, Jhin will be the highest damage dealer over time for the entire team, while Wukong primarily creates effects but can devastate the enemy team if upgraded to 3 stars. Ashe will spam skills from a corner unless taken down by Blitzcrank, Vi, or other Assassins. Lulu should stay close to Jayce to provide protection with her hex.
