Transfers in League of Legends are always a hot topic for gamers whenever the tournaments enter any break, short or long. Even in Vietnam, this issue has stirred up quite a debate, as the local League of Legends scene still has many ambiguities regarding transfers, with “dramas” such as backdoor dealings and salary debts flooding the community recently.

Among them, Cloud 9 – a very powerful organization in North America and perhaps only second to Team SoloMid – had wanted to recruit a young player to secure the mid-lane position, and that player was Caps. It’s worth noting that Cloud 9 had just recently replaced their mid-laner, bringing in Nisqy to take over from GoldenGlue. And surely prior to this, Cloud 9’s owner Jack Etienne had invited Caps to join but was unsuccessful.

In fact, the owner of Cloud 9 offered a “huge” salary for Caps to move from Europe to North America. It’s important to remember that among the regions that pay players, North America and China are the two regions that offer the highest salaries. However, Caps surprised the owner of Cloud 9, exclaiming “Wow” upon hearing Caps’ reply. Caps stated, “I am currently successful with G2 Esports, I have my own path, and I don’t really care how much you pay me.” Afterwards, owner Jack could not hide his astonishment and thought it was unfortunate that Cloud 9 would miss out on Caps, but he had immense respect for the player’s opinion.
Currently, Caps will continue to stick with G2 Esports in the upcoming summer LEC tournament and he is actively livestreaming on Twitch.tv.
