Many League of Legends players prefer solid, safe champions to climb ranks securely. However, there are also many who enjoy high-risk “gambling” champions to gain a significant advantage and are ready to carry when the opportunity arises.
Here is a list of those “all or nothing” champions:
Kha’Zix Top Lane

The first thing to say about Kha’Zix is that he is not just a difficult champion to play, but extremely challenging in the top lane. However, as mentioned, the greater the risk, the higher the reward. When laning, Kha’Zix should leave minions if necessary for his own safety, because once Kha’Zix has a few core items, being slightly behind on minions is not a concern at all.

When trading hits and exchanging health, Kha’Zix should utilize his Phase Rush rune to retreat without taking damage from the enemy. If he feels like he can get a kill, he can chase ahead to finish off his prey.

The reason is that R can maximize damage and slow from Kha’Zix’s passive, E will help Kha’Zix be mobile in teamfights, and W will deal more damage than Q in teamfights. You can also choose Q instead of W if the enemy does not opt for split pushing instead of teamfighting.
Ultimately, the challenge in teamfighting is the hardest part when playing Kha’Zix top lane. As a champion assassin, Kha’Zix will always be wary of enemies who will focus him whenever he reveals himself in combat. With three invisibility opportunities, Kha’Zix needs to utilize them well to enter and exit fights, only jumping in with E when he can jump out immediately (after taking down someone).
Nidalee Jungle

When clearing jungle camps, Nidalee can clear them super fast without losing health thanks to her strong skill set. However, when ganking, Nidalee’s value entirely depends on whether her Javelin Toss (Q) hits or not. If it hits, Nidalee becomes a terrifying champion, taking away half the health or getting a kill every time she encounters an opponent; if it misses, Nidalee can only stick to farming the jungle.
Even in teamfights, if her Javelin Toss doesn’t hit anyone, the only thing Nidalee can do for the team is to buff health and set traps because jumping in as a Cougar without landing Javelin Toss is like “throwing away her life”.

Elise Jungle

In the jungle, Elise can clear all camps super fast thanks to her percentage health damage, area damage, and attack speed boost. When ganking, Elise is also very dangerous with her Cocoon (E) that stuns from afar, ready to make any target disappear on hit. With this power, Elise can give her team a massive snowball advantage with 1-2 kills from the early game. Even soloing objectives like Rift Herald or Dragon is quite simple.
However, despite being so strong, the community still considers playing Elise to be relatively risky as this champion is similar to Lee Sin – strong early game and weak late game. For Elise, after 1-2 core items, even building full damage does not make her as powerful as a true mage, and building tank items does not make her sturdier than anyone else, many believe that at this point, whatever Elise builds is… not right. Therefore, with Elise’s champion nature, it is best to finish the game before the 25-minute mark.

Kayle – Top Lane

In the current meta, choosing Kayle is a very risky decision. Because during the laning phase, there are many champions that can bully Kayle to the point where she can’t even gain experience, let alone last hit. Especially when the enemy has Teleport to another lane, Kayle will find it very difficult to assist her teammates since Teleporting often gives the enemy an extra kill point.
However, if you can survive the tough laning phase without falling too far behind your opponent, Kayle can “make a strong comeback” in the later stages thanks to her passive, Divine Ascent. In the later stages, whether in teamfights or split pushing, Kayle with just a few items can dominate the fight, officially becoming the biggest threat to the enemy team.
