Recently, former GAM Esports coach Tinikun has continued to share bits of information about the players he has close ties with. Specifically, in a post calling for increased subs for Dia1, Tinikun unexpectedly revealed that this player had shared with him his intention to leave GAM Esports just after one season of joining.
He also mentioned that if Dia1 wants to leave the team, no one can stop him, and many other teams are willing to offer “high, much higher” compensation to have Dia1 on their roster.

In the recent VCS Spring 2020 tournament, when Levi showed signs of declining performance, it was Dia1, not anyone else, who “saved the day” for GAM on numerous occasions. The defeat in the finals against Team Flash was likely a significant disappointment for Dia1, Kiaya, Zeros, and Levi – the current top stars of League of Legends in Vietnam.
However, the deeper reason behind Dia1 wanting to leave GAM may not be related to this loss, but rather connected to Tinikun’s recent departure from GAM Esports. Like coach Yuna and several other members of GAM’s coaching staff, Dia1 was brought in by Tinikun himself, and it’s clear that the relationship between the two is very close.

In other words, Tinikun was the reason Dia1 joined GAM, but with this coach leaving, Dia1 may no longer be as enthusiastic about staying for the summer tournament. Notably, Dia1’s contract with GAM Esports is only valid for one year and will end on November 16, 2020.
However, coach Tinikun also shared that it seems Dia1 will not leave GAM right now, as he still has the desire to participate in the World Championship and, in particular, cannot leave Levi alone. If GAM fails to secure a spot for the World Championship, then perhaps “Dia” will not renew his contract.
This might give GAM Esports fans some temporary peace of mind, but it raises another big question: What is happening with GAM Esports? They can actively let Zeros go, which is relatively understandable since GAM now has Kiaya, but if Dia1 – a key player from the last spring season also wants to leave, then could it be that GAM’s appeal is no longer what it once was since Tinikun parted ways with them?
