With MSI 2020 canceled and the China-Korea Clash tournament not starting until the end of May, LCK players have been going through a long period without competing in a truly top-tier environment. Therefore, it’s understandable that our League of Legends players feel bored; finding ways to entertain themselves or setting challenges seems to be a natural need.

While “Chairman” Faker tries out Teamfight Tactics, SofM explores other games like CS:GO, PUBG, or DOTA2, Showmaker from Damwon Gaming sets a special challenge for himself. Specifically, he climbed to Challenger by playing only one champion per game, and just a few days ago, he successfully completed 87 games with 87 different champions.

Notably, he not only plays mid-lane as his specialty but also fits well with the team composition and champion qualities like Sion, Zac top lane, or Ashe ADC. He even proves to be a top-tier jungler with champions like Lee Sin and Elise. A Vietnamese gamer witnessing this achievement exclaimed: “This is evidence of Faker’s statement that a skilled mid-laner can play any position.”

What do you call the opposite of one champ? A Legend?
A showmaker, of course (Showmaker in English means a show producer).
I’ve watched quite a few videos on YouTube and Nuguri along with Showmaker are incredible players in solo queue.
There’s a channel that regularly posts VODs of LPL and LCK players encountering each other in Korean Challenger. I’ve seen a few videos like LCK and LPL players facing off, and it feels like a Super Star Clash. The funniest part is a video where DoinB and Tian meet 5 T1 players on the other side.
Although the two teams didn’t compete as expected, I believe Griffin and Damwon have brought many of the most remarkable talents that this tournament has ever seen. Showmaker might be the best player to ever touch this game, and he’s only 19 years old.
Showmaker is truly a monster in solo queue; I remember when he and Nuguri shared the top of the EUW Challenger, it was really terrifying.
Canyon too, however, Showmaker and Nuguri can both play every type of champion at the highest level.

Despite possessing exceptional skills and an incredibly diverse champion pool, unfortunately for Showmaker, he has yet to claim any notable championships. Perhaps the vast difference between ranked games and competitive tournaments is why young players like Showmaker have not achieved real success. The upcoming China-Korea Clash tournament may be the best opportunity for the young players of Damwon Gaming to showcase their talents and warm up before the intense LCK Summer 2020 begins.
