Before the VCS Spring season, GAM Esports was considered the winner of the transfer season after solving the mid-lane issue with the signing of Dia1. If GAM had won the VCS Spring, it would have been too normal since they had a dominant roster, but who would have thought that Team Flash would play so well in the finals and claim victory.

As the saying goes, “When you win, everything you do is right; when you lose, there’s always a loss.” For GAM Esports, they are facing losses on all fronts. First, GAM announced that three names, Zeros, Blazes, and Slay, were allowed to seek new homes for the upcoming season. While Slay and Blazes may not attract much attention, Zeros is entirely different; not only is he skilled, but the “Demon King” is also a significant brand in the Vietnamese League of Legends scene, marking the first major loss for GAM Esports.

The loss of both Palette and the coaching staff afterward is an extremely bad sign for the future of GAM Esports. Players are one part, but the entire support system of the black-gold team parting ways will significantly impact the gameplay and stability of this team. Even at this point, the fact that this team does not have a coach is adding to the fans’ worries.

“So, GAM is just a name now” – many would say, but in reality, that’s not entirely true. Yes, they are weaker, but they are not weak to the point of being pathetic. Remember that GAM Esports still has a very strong core in the top lane with Kiaya, Levi, and Dia1. These are all top-tier names in the VCS in their respective positions, and it’s hard for GAM’s lanes to fall behind their opponents.
In fact, Kiaya returning to the top lane has performed significantly better than when he was playing mid-lane; he was the one carrying the team in the first half of the season before Zeros returned. Dia1 has become increasingly resilient, solid, and shows superiority over other mid-laners in the VCS, while Levi’s excellence as a “god jungler” is undeniable.

Even with the loss of Palette and Blazes, the newcomers on this team have been performing quite well, evidenced by their victory in the recent Ultimate Challenge tournament. It’s been a while since we saw GAM Esports’ bot lane play true to the nature of ADC – Support, with Easylove performing very well.

In summary, in terms of personnel, GAM Esports may not have top-notch players across the board, but they still possess a high-quality team structure in the VCS. With this lineup, competing for a position in the top 4 is within reach for GAM, and it’s entirely feasible for them to reach the finals.
The biggest concern for GAM right now lies in the coach role; they have just lost Yuna and analyst Iris to Saigon Buffalo, and Tinikun has announced his retirement. Having a coach who can make an impact and has authority is crucial for a major team like GAM Esports to advance far. Perhaps the achievements of the black-gold team in the upcoming summer season will be significantly influenced by the new coach, who we don’t even know yet.
