After the first day of the VCSxPCS friendly tournament, GAM Esports and Team Flash had a rather lackluster performance against the representatives from PCS. The result was Talon Esports winning all matches with a score of 3-0, becoming the top contender for the championship in this friendly event.

In terms of the GAM Esports team, there has been a significant personnel change since the VCS finals, which led to their 0-3 defeat on the first day; even mid-laner superstar Dia1 could not salvage the situation in the third match. On the other hand, Team Flash, despite having a terrible debut match, managed to regain their spirits, winning two consecutive matches against GAM Esports and Machi Esports.

It can be seen that a transfer season has greatly impacted the two representatives of VCS. GAM Esports no longer possesses the strength they had during the Spring 2020 VCS finals; their current lineup feels like disconnected pieces. As for Team Flash, aside from their win against GAM Esports, their performance against Machi Esports was also outstanding. If the reigning VCS champions are given a bit more time to integrate the new members Naul and Palette, VCS still has hope to defeat PCS in this tournament.
Ultimately, this is still just the group stage with BO1 matches, so it is possible that VCS representatives have yet to fully showcase their strength. Since at least one VCS team will surely advance to the knockout stage, we can hope that in the BO5 matchups, VCS will perform better.
