The 10th season of League of Legends has passed the halfway mark, and during this time, numerous complaints about the existing ranking system have emerged, which Riot Games needs to address. In addition to the typical toxicity of online games, the unclear way that ranking points are added or deducted after each match is causing significant dissatisfaction among players. We have even noted instances where players win yet still lose points.
Therefore, what players currently need from Riot Games is a clear ranking system for League of Legends, where everything is transparent and no longer a gamble on fate. This requires Riot to make significant changes and adjustments to their ranking system. Adding a few new rank tiers should also be considered, similar to their previous addition of the Grandmaster and Challenger ranks instead of jumping directly from Diamond to Challenger.

Recently, players discovered that Riot Games plans to add a new rank tier called Emerald, with its icon, frame, and borders already completed by the artist behind the ability icons for Sett, Pantheon, and Senna. Notably, this rank tier has already been implemented in League of Legends: Wild Rift, and if it performs well in the future, it’s entirely possible that Riot will consider introducing it to the main League of Legends game.

Whether or not Riot Games will introduce the Emerald rank into League of Legends in the future, it is almost mandatory for them to upgrade the ranking system. Hopefully, they will find a reasonable solution for the currently unmanageable hidden MMR situation, the overwhelming number of smurfs, and the toxic players as we see today.
