T1 Will Face Challenges in the Decisive Phase of LCK Cup 2025
After the group stage of the LCK Cup 2025, T1 has shown an overwhelming performance. Following their match against Dplus KIA, who were too strong due to favorable game mechanics, T1 has not lost to any opponent, including Gen.G. However, due to the unfavorable results from the Baron group, fate has arranged for T1 to face Hanwha Life Esports in their first playoff match at the LCK Cup 2025.

As it is a BO5 match, both teams will face some challenges. HLE is gradually regaining their rhythm and the players have been coordinating more smoothly. Their only weakness is that the champion pool of the players isn’t particularly extensive, especially for the core player Zeka. If the match goes to all 5 games, it is entirely possible that Zeka will have to play champions he is less comfortable with.
Meanwhile, T1 is encountering difficulties with the player who is currently performing well, namely Smash. A BO5 will be very different from a BO3. And for T1’s opponents up to now, apart from DK (who has lost) and Gen.G (who self-sabotaged in the decisive phase), none of the other names are truly strong enough to be considered equal to the 2024 World Championship champions.

And if placing trust in Smash, T1 and Smash must perform better than in recent matches. The reality has shown that if Faker – Oner – Keria do not play at their highest level recently, T1 has faced considerable difficulties when having to allocate resources to Smash. In fact, Smash has also encountered issues when facing major teams or teams showing high determination.
The position of T1 – HLE is extremely precarious as both have only 1 life in this match. The losing team will be immediately eliminated. In this context, T1 will face a difficult puzzle, both in terms of personnel and the performance of their choices, as HLE is a much stronger team than almost all of T1’s previous opponents in the LCK Cup 2025.
