Some time ago, female gamer Júlia “Mayumi” Nakamura shocked the League of Legends community by playing for the INTZ team at Brazil’s Superliga ABCDE tournament. However, after that impressive debut, Mayumi was no longer allowed to compete in INTZ’s colors. As a result, at the end of May, Mayumi announced on her personal Twitter that she was no longer a member of INTZ. Immediately after leaving INTZ, she filed a lawsuit against the team, claiming they isolated her from Esports activities and used her only as a “mobile decoration” for advertising purposes.
Additionally, Mayumi accused INTZ of irregularities in the employment contract between her and the team, seeking compensation for the emotional distress she has experienced. Furthermore, Mayumi declared that she is open to offers from other professional teams to continue her Esports career and will stream regularly during this time.
As for the reason she was not allowed to compete with INTZ in the spring season, the Brazilian League of Legends community expressed some “sympathy” for INTZ, as the team almost lost its spot in the CBLOL 2020 tournament. It was a tough battle for INTZ to successfully remain in the league and participate in the CBLOL 2020 Summer. Conversely, some defended Mayumi, saying that if she was included in the main lineup, at the very least, she should have played one match instead of being a substitute for an entire season.
