A few hours ago, Riot Games posted an article about upgrading the detection and punishment system for game sabotage in League of Legends. While this update was expected to receive support from the community, Riot Games faced a barrage of criticism from League of Legends players. The reason is quite simple; they used the emblem of Honor 5 while the content of the article had nothing to do with it at all.

The majority of community opinions suggest that the rewards from the Honor Box, such as a few key fragments and Blue Essence, are too meager compared to what they have to put in. Once people stop trying to reach such Honor milestones, negative gaming attitudes will gradually emerge, leading to the ultimate consequence of game sabotage behaviors that we often see.

I feel like I’ve been “scammed” by that representative; I thought they would upgrade the Honor system.
Me too, for a few seconds I was so excited thinking the Honor rewards would finally have value (like Honor skins).
I still can’t believe how useless these honor rewards are. What does it mean to give me a few key fragments if I can get them easily just by playing the game?
Are they really doing this? I don’t know, this is so stupid.
Exactly, I thought the number would be 3 key fragments a week, equivalent to 1 chest per week when reaching rank S. And sometimes you don’t receive any key fragments until you reach Honor level, and all the key fragments you were supposed to receive are in there.

Furthermore, the reality is that this system honors the best players, not the players you feel most comfortable playing with. I also don’t know how to fix this; any honor system from Riot Games will end up turning into a vote for the best player of the match.
I don’t get it either.
Please, I just want chests; I already have 12 keys and don’t want to receive 2 more fragments from the Honor Box.
This article is just a good way to say nothing.

Regarding Riot Games’ article, it can be summarized that they will upgrade the rules for players and use it as a standard to punish sabotage behaviors like excessive feeding or AFK, while also promising to improve the speed of punishment. However, the reality is that this is not what players care about the most; they need Riot Games to treat the effort they put in better (specifically here, the effort to reach Honor level).

The current value of the Honor Box seems to be too low. Riot only gives you a few key fragments and Blue Essence; not even average-value items like Hextech Chests are included, so what’s the point of putting in effort to play well and avoid toxicity? Adding rewards is entirely within Riot Games’ capabilities; they can do this very easily and effectively, rather than announcing overly abstract things to gamers like programming, laws, and so on.
