An Announcement That Could Change Vietnamese Esports
Recently, Vietnam Television announced that VTVCab and On Live will broadcast popular Esports titles on the broadcaster’s platforms. Specifically, the three games listed are League of Legends, Liên Quân Mobile, and VALORANT. This can be seen as surprising news for the Vietnamese Esports community, especially for League of Legends viewers.

In some respects, this can be seen as a major turning point that could change the history of Vietnamese Esports. As many opinions have noted before the season began, the VCS would be less appealing with only lesser-known teams or those far removed from their competitive glory. Meanwhile, top teams are also struggling in the 2025 LCP. There were even predictions that few would pay attention to Vietnamese League of Legends anymore due to the lack of names that could draw viewer interest.

While Liên Quân Mobile and VALORANT still retain some attraction, League of Legends leaves more worries. Especially in 2024, the tournament exposed the biggest scandal in the history of Vietnamese Esports. Now, the fact that the game is still included in the broadcast list by VTVCab can be considered good news for VCS viewers in particular and Esports in general.

Because for the VCS, the regional tournament will still attract attention. Moreover, appearing on the broadcaster’s channels will help increase visibility. This, in turn, will enhance societal awareness of Esports, fostering a more positive perception of electronic sports.
Another important factor is that Esports has truly been embraced in Vietnam – a place where there has almost always been negative feedback when someone mentions “professional gaming.” VTVCab’s involvement in broadcasting Esports tournaments is seen as further recognition, following the emergence of Esports in the SEA Games and other traditional sporting events.

Furthermore, in 2026, League of Legends will still be included in the list of events at the ASIAD in Japan. This can be seen as preparation in terms of infrastructure, operation… for the upcoming tournaments, with ASIAD potentially being the first shot.

The Esports Community, Especially League of Legends, Is Excited
With the prospect of League of Legends in particular and many other Esports titles in general being broadcast on VTVCab’s official channels, many viewers are genuinely happy, especially the VCS community. At least at this moment, Vietnamese League of Legends will not fall into a dangerous situation even if top teams with large fanbases are not competing.

Moreover, with Esports receiving more attention, there may be new factors that help players compete more comfortably, without worrying too much about surrounding issues or having any reasons to “get involved” like the case that occurred with Vietnamese League of Legends in 2024.
