VCS Completely Cleared from LCP 2025, but Viewers Point Out an Injustice
After the loss of MGN Vikings Esports to TALON, all 3 representatives of VCS have been eliminated from LCP 2025. This means that First Stand 2025 will mark the first time since 2017 that an international tournament does not feature a representative from Vietnamese League of Legends, not due to unavoidable circumstances (like a pandemic). However, VCS viewers still believe the tournament is somewhat… unfair to the Vietnamese representatives.

Accordingly, many opinions suggest that when the tournament is held in Chinese Taipei, VCS teams can only apply for short-term visas and have to constantly travel to renew them. Moreover, due to such visa issues, the matches have been organized quite hurriedly with a continuous schedule. The long distances traveled, coupled with a packed schedule, left the VCS teams with little time for practice.

Initially, when GAM announced they might build a gaming house right at the LCP 2025 venue, this reason did not attract much attention from VCS viewers. But reality proved otherwise, and GAM players had to travel back and forth frequently. Not only GAM, but MVKE and TSW are also in a similar situation.
And when the VCS teams did not perform well, aside from the technical factors, various objective issues like travel were brought up for discussion.

But It Cannot Be Denied That VCS Still Has Serious Weaknesses
Nevertheless, that is just one reason to discuss and empathize more with the VCS teams. In reality, all 3 VCS representatives brought various issues. While GAM has shown a very poor performance at this year’s LCP, MVKE and TSW still demonstrate they are caught up in fundamental weaknesses regarding mentality and competitive spirit at crucial moments.

These factors are the main reasons why VCS teams performed poorly, especially considering that at one point MVKE or TSW defeated representatives from PCS in BO3 and BO5. The potential is still there, but the Vietnamese League of Legends representatives need to reflect on their shortcomings and urgently rectify them before more important tournaments like MSI or Worlds come up.
