The LPL Region Mentions Faker but Unveils a “Bitter” Truth
As we know, with the changed format of the 2025 World Championship, both the LPL and LCK regions still maintain 4 slots to participate in the tournament, but the 4th seed of both regions must fight in a BO5 match to secure the last spot in the group stage. With T1 being the 4th seed of LCK, LPL teams are in a state of tension. However, the recent cheering of the LPL region has truly left fans of League of Legends in China feeling “bitter” when mentioning Faker.
The LPL English channel’s photo cheering for IG (left) and TES but mentions the losses of the 10 players from both teams against Faker.
Accordingly, the LPL English channel posted a poster ahead of the Invictus Gaming – Top Esports match on the afternoon of September 25 (Vietnam time). However, the poster also included stats… of the losses of each player against Faker. Out of the 10 players participating in the recent match, there were only 9 victories but a total of 37 losses against Faker.
Among these players, only Meiko is the only player who has ever secured a complete series victory against Faker. But that was when the World Championship was played in a BO1 format. No other player has secured a complete series victory against Faker. And it is Meiko who has faced Faker the most times (1 win – 6 losses).
Meiko is the player who has faced Faker the most, the only one to win 1 series against Faker and also the one who has lost to Faker the most.
Faker is Truly the “Nemesis” of LPL
This list only considers the 2 teams preparing to compete on the afternoon of September 25. However, if we expand to include Weibo Gaming or JD Gaming, the number of players who have lost to Faker will add all members of WBG, while JDG will have 4 out of 6 members, excluding the 2 players currently playing in the Support position, Zhuo and Wink, who have never faced Faker.
Faker is truly the “most formidable counter” of LPL.
It can be said that Faker is not only a “nemesis” but also a “nightmare” for LPL teams every time they step onto the World Championship stage. And this time, perhaps many fans of teams like IG, WBG, or JDG are quite disappointed, as there is only the 4th seed left for them to step into the biggest stage of the year. But there, Faker is waiting.
