The match day on July 17th was a special moment for the Vietnamese fan community, as they witnessed two epic clashes in the current VCS.
CERBERUS Esports faced the challenge of GAM Esports – the only name capable of challenging their unbeaten streak in the first leg. Meanwhile, the two teams with a history, Team Flash and Team Secret, also clashed in a battle for the top 4 positions.
GAM Esports 2 – 1 CERBERUS Esports
This match was heavily marked by the two superstars Levi and Dia1, especially in the third game – the decisive match which took place with a very balanced situation for both teams, where Lucian in Dia1’s hands made all the difference.
The number one star of Vietnamese League of Legends fired everything with Levi’s support to end CES’s “undefeated” streak.
After losing their first match in VCS Summer 2020, CERBERUS’s position was not significantly affected, while GAM continued to solidify their position in the top tier with 5 wins and 2 losses after 7 matches, a result that can be considered very encouraging given the internal crises the team is facing.
Team Flash 2 – 1 Team Secret
Alongside the match between GAM and CES, the confrontation between FL and TS was also a highly notable match, as each position of both teams featured top-notch players. On the FL side, the team witnessed the return of Yoshino after a long break, while TS also had the service of CBL.
The confrontation was very tense in the first two games, but in the third game, the Kog’Maw pick – the ace that helped TS win Game 2, was completely countered by Team Flash, who dominated and easily secured the overall victory 2-1.
After a shaky start to the season, the superstar machine of FL seems to have started to get into gear, and with an impressive performance recently, the defending VCS champion has climbed to second place in the standings, with the same score of 5-2 as GAM but better in terms of win-loss ratio.
