On December 26, DAMWON Gaming (DWG) defeated Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) with a score of 3-1 in the semifinals of the KeSPA Cup 2020, thus securing a place in the finals. Although they were equalized in game 2, the DWG players, with the caliber of world champions, resolved the match in the next two games. After the match, player Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu made some statements regarding the finals:

“I am very dissatisfied with the result of the match” – Canyon stated. However, he also admitted that the wrong strategy stemming from a somewhat complacent mentality caused DWG to act hastily and lose one game. Additionally, their “overlooking” the champion Yone, allowing HLE to pick it for Chovy, was a very detrimental mistake.
Furthermore, Canyon also believed that selecting Senna for Ghost was completely normal since they had practiced with this champion a lot. He also did not forget to thank “The Great Khan,” as Khan’s caliber greatly contributed to the victory of the reigning 2020 World Championship champions.

Commenting on the two new factors, Khan (Top Lane) and Head Coach – “Mother Bear” Kkoma, Canyon noted that both are very friendly and open. “Coach Kkoma is always the one to initiate conversations with the players” – Canyon shared.
In addition, DWG’s jungler also declared that he would bring the championship home as a gift for Coach Kkoma: “KkOma said this is his first time in the KeSPA finals. I want to bring him another trophy with our victory in the next match.”

DWG’s opponent will be Nongshim RedForce (formerly Team Dynamics), after Peanut’s team impressively defeated KT Rolster 3-0 in the other semifinal.
