Overview
Ornn in Teamfight Tactics is a champion costing 5 gold with a tribe – system including Forest God – Blacksmith – Vanguard. Ornn’s greatest strength comes from crafting items after each round. Essentially, after each round, Ornn will forge 1 “piece” of equipment. You will receive items from Ornn if this piece is forged enough. The number of “pieces” for Ornn to complete an item is 4/3/2 based on the 1/2/3 star levels of this champion.

When to Use Ornn?
Given that it takes a considerable amount of time to forge items, Ornn is not a champion that can help you “turn the tide” when you are low on health. You should only use Ornn when you have a strong team composition to survive as many rounds as possible for this piece to forge items.
Building Ornn
As a Vanguard champion, you need to equip Ornn with defensive items so this piece can withstand effectively. One note is that you should equip the Quicksilver for Ornn at the end of the game. Ornn’s skill, Fire of the Forge, has 2 uses, similar to League of Legends. The crowd control immunity effect will ensure Ornn can use both instances of the skill to stun as many enemy champions as possible.

Ornn’s Items and How to Use Them

Pirate Gun: The damage from the champion that owns it will instantly take down targets below 10% health. Each time a target is defeated, 1 gold will drop.
This is an incredibly powerful item on champions capable of taking down multiple enemy pieces in succession. Characters like Darius, Samira, Olaf, and Zed are the most suitable for this item.

Rocket Grab: Essentially, it resembles Blitzcrank’s old skill.
This item is used as a way to counter the enemy’s carry by pulling that piece out of a safe position. To use Rocket Grab effectively, ensure the enemy’s carry does not have Quicksilver or Trap Claw.

Muramana: After using the skill for the first time in each battle round, the champion that owns it will regain 100 energy within 4 seconds.
Muramana is most suitable for champions with relatively low energy stats and can cast spells continuously. Kindred is probably the champion that fits best with Muramana.

Trinity Force: Increases 33 AD, skill damage, attack speed, armor, magic resistance, health.
This item provides all attack and defense stats, making it suitable for most champions. You can use it on carry champions like Samira, Teemo, or Sivir to maximize the stats of Trinity Force.

Eternal Winter: Enemy champions attacking the piece that owns it will have their attack speed reduced by 50% for 2.5 seconds. After being slowed 5 times, that champion will be frozen. This freezing effect can occur only once every 5 seconds.
This is considered the most dominant defensive item that Ornn can forge. Just give it to your team’s tank, and the enemy’s carry will be controlled for a very long time. The most suitable champion for this item is Braum.

Randuin’s Omen: When the battle begins, all allied champions next to the piece that owns it gain an additional 50 armor/magic resistance. The owning champion does not receive this effect.
This item only maximizes its power in teams with many tank champions. It is probably the “signature” item of the Vanguard – Mystic team composition; otherwise, Randuin’s Omen is not particularly strong in other team comps.

Zhonya’s Hourglass: The first time the owning champion receives damage that brings their health below 40%, they will gain damage immunity for 2.5 seconds.
This item is very suitable for champions with healing abilities or those that can deal significant damage in a short time. Swain is probably the unit that utilizes this item most effectively with his “transformation” ability and continuous life steal from his Demon Form skill.

Black Axe: Attacks and skills from the owning champion will reduce the target’s armor/magic resistance by 40% for 3 seconds.
Spirit Visage: The owning champion will recover 8% of maximum health per second.
Black Axe and Spirit Visage are among the items that Ornn can forge for weaker champions. With Black Axe, you should use it on pieces that have area damage skills to reduce the armor/magic resistance of as many enemy champions as possible. In the case of Spirit Visage, you simply give it to the champion with the highest health in your team.
