As of now, Kayle is one of the most powerful carries in Teamfight Tactics Season 4.5. However, maximizing her strength or effectively running a team composition around Kayle is no easy feat. Let’s take a look at some tips from a Grandmaster player named Hiyu to understand the optimal way to play Kayle.

To effectively play around Kayle, you need to determine your team composition strategy right after the first 3 rounds of monsters. From the shared selection round, prioritize picking the Wooden Bow as it is a crucial item for Kayle. Next, you should buy and upgrade the Marksman units in the early game.

The reason is that Marksman units have relatively stable damage output in the early game and help you maintain your health very well. Furthermore, these unit types can effectively use items crafted from the Wooden Bow, such as Rapid Firecannon and Guinsoo’s Rageblade. Therefore, players can craft these items early to prepare for transitioning to Kayle later in the game.

Moving into the mid-game, what you need to do is gradually switch to using Divine champions on the front line. Units like Irelia, Jax, or Nasus are the pieces you should purchase at this stage. Remember that the Divine effect not only increases damage but can also reduce incoming damage. Therefore, the aforementioned units can become relatively strong tanks in the mid-game.
If you are lucky enough to acquire Kayle at level 6-7, your team composition will become extremely easy. Even at level 1 star, this champion can already deal a significant amount of damage. In case you don’t get Kayle early, rolling for a strong Kindred unit is essential to maintain your health. If you find yourself with too low health, transferring Kayle’s items to Kindred and leveling this unit to 3 stars is also a good strategy to secure a top 4 finish.

By the late game, the units you must have include Kayle, Xayah, and Kindred. Aside from those champions, you can pivot to various team compositions to secure victory.

If your front line is not at a high level or you have to face special units like Aatrox or Aurelion Sol, adding Azir to your composition is advisable. Even if you have the Forest Spirit trait, you can completely combine a 6 Forest Spirit composition with Kayle.

In addition to 2 offensive items, Kayle must have a defensive item to deal damage effectively. Typically, the Quicksilver is the most common defensive item for her. However, if you are facing an Assassin composition or a strong Zed, Guardian Angel is a better choice.
