Since patch 11.4 was updated, the hyper-roll playstyle has been rendered ineffective as 1-gold champions at 3 stars can no longer carry the team. Moreover, 4-gold carries like Olaf, Aurelion Sol, Kayle, and Tryndamere have become extremely popular and are fiercely contested. This forces Teamfight Tactics players to turn to team compositions centered around 3-gold units to avoid having their cards stolen by opponents and ensure damage output in the late game.

A prime example of this is the Marksman – Spirit team, built around two extremely powerful 3-gold champions: Sivir and Kindred. In this team composition, Sivir serves as the damage dealer over time while Kindred finishes off opponents with its burst damage capabilities. Beneficial effects such as health and attack speed buffs from Spirit champions will help your two main carries deal damage very effectively.

The ideal scenario to start with this composition is to acquire a Teemo unit early on. Then, you should aim for a 2 Vanguard/Brawler combined with 2 Marksman at level 4. Tristana is a strong choice alongside Teemo in the early game. You should avoid using Nidalee as she has been heavily nerfed in damage output.

Moving into the mid-game, you should replace Tristana with Sivir to ensure your team has sufficient damage output. Units like Kindred or Yuumi are powerful choices at levels 6-7. A handy tip that players should apply during this phase is to roll down to about 30 gold when reaching level 7.
Besides aiming to upgrade your 3-gold units to 2 stars, rolling at level 7 will help you acquire strong champions like Sivir and Kindred in their Chosen forms. Even if you manage to get support champions like Teemo or Yuumi in their Chosen forms, they will significantly strengthen your team.

As you approach the late game, you will choose your composition based on the Chosen champions you have previously acquired. If you have the Marksman Chosen, players should add a Diana unit (even a 1-star) to activate the 4 Spirit combo. In the front line, the duo of Aatrox and Sejuani remains the strongest tank champions you can have.

If you have the Spirit Chosen, skip Diana and add Shen to your composition. This unit will provide you with a substantial amount of magic resistance along with very annoying crowd control abilities. The 5-gold unit you should aim for at level 8 is Samira; even if you don’t reach the 4 Marksman threshold, this champion is still incredibly strong.

Regarding item selection, Rapid Firecannon and Quicksilver are the most suitable items for Sivir. For the third item slot, attack items such as Infinity Edge, Blade of the Ruined King, or The Collector are what players should aim for. For Kindred, you can combine items like Spear of Shojin or Zeke’s Herald to buff your carry Sivir. If not, skill damage items also work very well with this unit.
