It has been 15 years since the community emerged and developed in Vietnam, and the “old brother” DOTA holds a more modest position compared to its younger counterparts in the S-shaped land, especially when compared to other games in the same genre such as League of Legends or Arena of Valor. However, the enthusiasm of DOTA players continues to have a significant impact on the community.

At the end of 2020, amidst many changes in the gaming world, Vietnamese fans still had the chance to participate in an exciting and high-quality domestic tournament. The DRK DOTA Weekly Cup, with 4 weeks of intense competition, has selected the 8 strongest teams to compete in the Onlan round in Da Nang – an event that the community is eagerly looking forward to.

However, the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic forced the Onlan round of the tournament to be temporarily postponed to ensure the community’s disease prevention efforts. The support and passion of domestic DOTA fans had to endure more challenges.

Nevertheless, thanks to positive results in disease prevention efforts, cultural and sports activities within the community have resumed in mid-March. At the same time, the DRK DOTA Cup is also back to serve the hearts that love domestic esports.

According to the information we received, the play-off round of the DRK DOTA tournament will take place in two specific phases as follows:

Online matches (tentative): 8 teams will compete in a Double Elimination format (winners and losers brackets) on April 3, 4, and 10.

Onlan matches (tentative): 3 teams will compete in the Winners Final, Losers Final, and Grand Final in Da Nang on April 17.

Thus, the tournament will have 3 days of online matches to select the final 3 teams to compete directly in Da Nang. It is known that the DRK tournament organizers are rushing to finalize the last steps to make the first Onlan round of DOTA 2 Vietnam truly memorable and full of memories.

The matches will still be broadcast live on the tournament’s Fanpage and YouTube Channel. Side information is continuously updated in community groups and electronic news sites.
