Focus on 3-cost carries
If you notice, the compositions currently dominating the Teamfight Tactics meta revolve around 3-cost carries. Units like Kennen, Sivir, Kalista, and Neeko have all shown their incredible “carry potential” over the past period. Even with off-meta compositions like Assassins, you can still climb ranks comfortably if you manage to upgrade Akali or Katarina to 2 stars early.

The advantage of 3-cost carries lies in their versatility; you can use them in any situation. Even if you have an unfavorable start, you can still upgrade 3-cost units to 2 stars by stage 3-4. This allows you to have a much easier mid-game, even recovering a long win streak and gaining a significant advantage in the late game. Once you have enough gold and health, repositioning your team in the late game becomes extremely easy.

Don’t give up no matter how bad the items are
The worst situation for a Teamfight Tactics player is probably getting 3 Giant’s Belts or Tear of the Goddess after a monster round. Even if the items you receive are terrible, you shouldn’t give up. For the Giant’s Belt, the advice is to combine it into a Warmog’s Armor and give it to your strongest tank. With a large amount of health, that unit will buy enough time for the backline to deal damage and minimize losses when you lose.

For the Tear of the Goddess, crafting a Blue Buff can be a bit tricky as it depends on your composition and the units you have. If you’re using an Assassin team, the best unit to hold the Blue Buff would be Akali. Aatrox can also utilize the Blue Buff decently, as he can quickly control enemy champions. Otherwise, you can use the Blue Buff combo with Kindred in any composition since this unit already possesses high skill damage.
Never waste those aura items
For many players, aura items like the Spear of Shojin, Zeke’s Herald, and Iron Solari’s Pendant don’t seem very useful in the late game. Therefore, they often waste the effects these items provide on unnecessary units. Worse, many players even use the Mystic Forge Hammer from the Lucky Lantern to turn aura items into other equipment. However, expert advice is that you should not do that.

If you use the Mystic Forge Hammer on aura items, the chance of receiving worse items is incredibly high. Only a few items like Infinity Edge, Guardian Angel, and Glove of Thorns are more valuable than aura items. Additionally, the effects from aura items will significantly enhance your carry’s power and help you secure victories more easily. Thus, no matter what stage of the game you’re in, you should never waste aura items.
