Last weekend, the decisive matches of the DRK DOTA playoff round determined the final three teams heading to Da Nang. In this beautiful coastal city, two epic battles promise breathtaking performances, along with a prize pool of up to 40,000,000 VND for the teams.
It’s no surprise that the champions of week 1 and week 4 – team NMN and Never Fall – are the two teams that arrived earliest in Da Nang. While Never Fall is a collection of elite players with ranks up to 8k – rivaling any professional team – NMN was founded by none other than the “big brother” of the Vietnamese DOTA community: Nguyễn “Lis” Minh Nhân.

The passing of brother Lis at the end of 2020 was indeed a huge shock for Vietnamese DOTA fans, as the name Lis has always been famous, from the days of Dota 1 to the victories in DOTA 2 that brought fame to the nation. For this reason, Misa – a beloved streamer and caster – has strived to achieve a title with team NMN as a tribute to the late brother.

However, against the strong performance of Never Fall, Misa’s team NMN could only achieve their goal of making it to Da Nang, allowing their opponent to advance one step further and reach the grand finals. The opponent NMN will face in the lower bracket finals is also a well-known name in the professional DOTA scene: team The Old Boys.
The total number of matches The Old Boys had to play during the intense playoff days last weekend was 12 games. After playing four Bo3 matches with a score of 2-1, the resilient spirit of the ESL “veterans” has proven that their strength is fully deserving of a spot in Da Nang.

Thus, all three names: Never Fall, NMN, and The Old Boys have equal opportunities to claim the championship trophy of this DRK DOTA tournament. Each team features players who have previously competed professionally in Vietnam, promising intense and fierce matches on April 25, 2021, during the online round of the tournament in Da Nang.
