Elise’s Comeback in TFT Season 13
Although this version has quite a few changes, the update 13.7 of TFT Season 13 has very important adjustments for the Shape Shifter system. Accordingly, two key champions in the mid-game of this system, Gangplank and Swain, received significant buffs to their durability. Moreover, the main carry of the Shape Shifter named Elise also received a substantial buff to her ability with a notable increase in damage.

This makes the Shape Shifter system extremely powerful and frustrating in the mid and late game. This composition is a perfect combination of a frontline with good durability and a backline carry that delivers substantial damage. When combined with the Black Rose trait and strong 5-cost units, the Shape Shifter system can sweep all opponents with impressive power in the late game.
Building Elise – Shape Shifter Composition in TFT Season 13
In the early game, players can use the 1-cost Sorcerer duo, Zyra and Lux, to ensure output damage. Meanwhile, the frontline choice can be flexibly used among traits like Guardian, Brawler, or Protector depending on the match situation. Starting with 2 backline champions combined with 2 durable champions will help players retain health much more effectively.

Moving into the mid-game, players should reroll a bit at level 7 to find important 3-cost units like Swain or Gangplank. They will ensure strong power for the composition and help players maintain health very effectively. Additionally, Nami is also a strong choice at this stage as she synergizes well with Swain and activates the 4 Sorcerer bonus to provide a large amount of AP for the composition.

After reaching level 8, players will use gold to search for Elise to ensure damage output. Additionally, Jayce is also an important choice at this stage to activate the very powerful 4 Shape Shifter bonus. With the 4 Shape Shifter bonus, players can confidently hold gold at the 50 gold mark and aim for level 9 to add other strong units like Garen, LeBlanc… to complete the composition.

Some Tips for Building the Composition
With Elise’s position, Spear of Shojin and Guardian Angel are must-have items. In addition, other damage-increasing items like Giant Slayer, Sorcerer’s Hat, or Deathcap are also strong options for the third item slot. Regarding the Augments, upgrades that provide energy regeneration are extremely powerful as they help Elise and other carries cast their abilities continuously and significantly increase damage. Moreover, upgrades that provide Sorcerer Emblems are also worth considering as they are a perfect fit for Elise in the late game.
