Diana
In Teamfight Tactics Season 4, Diana was considered the most crucial unit of the Assassin – Spirit composition. This is because Diana often bore the responsibility of dealing primary damage early in the game, leading to winning streaks for players. This allowed players to accumulate a significant amount of gold and health to level up and search for 3-cost carry units like Akali and Katarina. Additionally, Diana was also a champion that utilized the Iron Solari Chain extremely well.

However, when transitioning to Season 5, this champion was changed to a 4-cost unit, and you can only purchase Diana later in the game. This makes the Assassin composition in the early game extremely weak as Kha’Zix is too easily countered. Even if you manage to buy Diana early, her damage output is also very low. Essentially, Diana in Season 5 only serves as a crowd control unit, but she is easily countered by the Mystic Cloak or effects from the Celestial tribe.

Yasuo
After some testing, Yasuo in Season 5 has proven to be significantly weaker than in Season 4, even though Riot raised his cost from 1 gold to 3 gold. In terms of tribe and system, Yasuo in Season 4 had a large shield from the Lone Wolf and Duelist traits, which continuously increased attack speed. Meanwhile, Yasuo in Season 5 only has fixed attack speed stats from the Legion trait. If you want Yasuo to have a shield and damage from the Mage tribe, this champion must drop to 50% health.

This limitation has caused Yasuo in Season 5 to require many attack items to deal strong damage, making him easy to take down early. In contrast, Yasuo in Season 4 had exceptional durability by stacking many defensive items while still dealing significant damage. Furthermore, at the cost of 1 gold, players could roll Yasuo to 3 stars quite easily in Season 4. In contrast, with a price of 3 gold, it’s hard to do the same with “the God” in Season 5.

Kayle
Riot Games raising Kayle’s cost to 5 gold has made this unit extremely hard to use in Season 5. While in Season 4, Kayle would become powerful right at 1 star if players could assemble the right items for this champion. Therefore, Kayle would help players break losing streaks and maintain health very effectively during the mid-game. Even without activating the Divine or Reaper effects, Kayle in Season 4 remained a strong carry in many compositions.

However, Kayle in Season 5 cannot unleash her power as easily. Essentially, Kayle’s ability requires you to have a sufficiently strong team and survive in combat for 20 seconds for her to reach her most dominant state. Not to mention that players find it very difficult to upgrade Kayle to 2 stars since she costs 5 gold. Therefore, Kayle only maximizes her strength in a team with high quality beforehand, and she can no longer become the go-to carry like in Season 4.
