LPL Summer 2021 will officially kick off on June 7, and teams are gradually announcing their competition rosters. The latest to do so is FunPlus Phoenix – the current Spring Split runner-up.
Overall, like most other teams, FPX hasn’t made many personnel changes, as their core roster of five players remains intact. The only addition is a backup marksman, with the inclusion of player River.

However, this has led many gamers to feel skeptical, as the roster does not include Bo – the player currently serving a 4-month ban for “being forced to participate in gambling.”
According to Riot’s punishment, Bo is banned from competition for 4 months, but the suspension is counted from when he was temporarily suspended to assist in the investigation, which was on March 2, 2021, and the ban will end on July 1. This means Bo will only miss the first 3 weeks of the LPL Summer 2021, but many viewers still question whether FPX has removed Bo from their future plans.

In reality, the answer is quite simple. FPX cannot include Bo in the registration list because he is on Riot’s punishment list, and the specific clause is “Banned from participating in all professional League of Legends tournaments.” Therefore, FPX is certainly not allowed to register Bo in their lineup, even if the player becomes eligible to compete from the fourth week of the group stage.
Bo will complete his ban at the beginning of July, and FPX can only register him for competitions during the mid-season transfer window. The fact that FPX did not terminate Bo’s contract while he was “entangled” shows that the team does not “discard” players and fully sympathizes with Bo’s circumstances, contrary to the baseless theories that many viewers are concerned about.
