The grand Telecom War of yesteryear is now a story of the past; currently, both T1 and KT Rolster have lost their dominant positions in the LCK. Nevertheless, the clash between these two teams in the fourth week of the 2021 LCK Summer Split carries immense significance, as both desperately need a victory to realize their ambitions this season.
Entering this life-or-death showdown, T1 quickly showcased an overwhelming presence and took the lead after the first game. However, fans’ worries materialized as T1 made consecutive mistakes leading to a loss in game 2, and they nearly paid dearly in game 3.
After allowing KT to tie the series, T1 was completely overwhelmed by their opponents during the first 20 minutes of game 3. In fact, it seemed like everything was going downhill for this team when Teddy made a mistake and got caught out, allowing KT to rush for Baron with their numerical advantage.
But at the most critical moment, T1’s stars rediscovered their ability to shine. Despite being down 4 to 5 and lacking an AD carry, T1 had to engage in a fight they could not afford to skip, or else the game would slip away from them.
The trio of Canna – Cuzz – Keria with their champions Wukong, Xin Zhao, and Leona showcased their strong initiation skills, while Faker’s Karma provided essential support in team fights with timely skill usage, from dealing damage with the Mantra – Inner Flame combo to crucial shielding, rendering KT’s numerical advantage meaningless.

T1 wiped out KT in a 4v5 scenario, Faker’s Karma achieved a Triple Kill, and T1 completely regained balance, ultimately turning the game around to finish the Telecom War with a victory.
The MVP of the match officially belongs to Keria – the player who performed exceptionally consistently throughout the game and was the only one on T1 who did not make mistakes. This is undoubtedly a well-deserved honor for him. However, analysts also praised Faker, as his Karma had an outstanding game 3. Not only did he maintain lane advantage despite being at a disadvantage (Karma vs. Lucian), but he also had a significant impact in team fights, particularly in that pivotal 4v5 engagement.
Additionally, Faker contributed 100% to T1’s kills in game 3 (KDA 4/1/11, total 15 kills), a statistic that speaks volumes about the “teamwork” prowess of the Chairman in this match.
