Professionals Don’t Hesitate to Expose T1’s CEO
Recently, T1’s CEO shared his views regarding the incident involving T1 – Gumayusi – Smash. However, not only did he fail to provide any new information, but he also made statements that the community pointed out seemed to imply blame towards the team’s coaching staff, as well as a “double standard” argument. Even professionals found the CEO’s reasoning to be absurd. In fact, YamatoCannon, the renowned former coach of LEC, suggested that there might be a “conspiracy theory” behind it.

Specifically, the former FNC coach stated: “I feel that the statement ‘We have discussed a lot, and I requested Gumayusi to be included in the starting lineup for the Regular Seasons’ is a lack of respect for AD Carry Gumayusi and T1’s coaching staff. This contradicts completely with his previous statements of ‘I have full confidence in Gumayusi’ and ‘absolute trust in the coaching staff’ from Mr. Joe. Moreover, based on experience, this kind of language is often used to create leverage when wanting to dismiss someone.”

The Community Points Out Many Inconsistencies in T1 CEO’s Statements
Not only are there self-destructive arguments, but according to some opinions, the CEO’s announcement indeed shows a contempt for Gumayusi. The CEO continuously emphasizes that Gumayusi must prove himself more, while not mentioning anything about this aspect concerning Smash. “Why does a two-time World Championship AD Carry still need to prove himself more and compete with an AD Carry whose best achievement is top 4 in Challengers?” questioned one fan.

According to many opinions, there exists a certain injustice towards Gumayusi at T1. And it is very likely that in the future, if there are any personnel changes after T1 performs poorly in matches, the audience will react more negatively than usual.
Not to mention, at this moment, due to the policies from the higher-ups, Smash is receiving very toxic reactions from the community – which is completely detrimental to the development of a young player like T1’s rookie during the recent LCK Cup.
