Last night, on August 14th, the Playoffs of the European League of Legends tournament – LEC Summer 2021 officially kicked off, with the first match of the winners’ bracket between Rogue and Misfits Gaming. The final result saw Rogue winning with a score of 3-2, thus becoming the first team to qualify for the Semifinals.
Meanwhile, Misfits will be pushed down to the losers’ bracket and will continue to seek a ticket to advance. They will face the winner of the match between Fnatic and Vitality in the first round of the losers’ bracket.
For Rogue, this victory holds significant importance as it marks their qualification for Worlds 2021 taking place in China later this year.
Due to the complex operation mechanism of the LEC, we can understand that Rogue secured their ticket to Worlds by ensuring they are in the top 3 of LEC Summer 2021. The semifinals of the LEC will only consist of 3 participating teams: Semifinal 1 will be between the 2 teams from the winners’ bracket, and the losing team will drop to the losers’ bracket to face the winner of round 3 of the losers’ bracket, which is Semifinal 2.

Another noteworthy point is that this is the second consecutive year that Rogue has qualified for Worlds under the same scenario: finishing first in the summer split and becoming the first team in the world to participate in the biggest tournament of the year.
This year’s Rogue roster is still considered quite strong, as they have retained the core lineup that participated in the last Worlds, combining the youth of “SofM Junior” Inspired with the experience of veterans like Odoamne and Hans Sama…

In LEC Spring 2021, Rogue experienced a heartbreaking defeat in the finals against MAD Lions, and with their current soaring performance, Hans Sama and his teammates are eagerly looking to fulfill their next big goal – to become the champions of Europe in League of Legends.
