If you are a gamer who frequently battles in Teamfight Tactics, you will notice that the meta over the past 1-2 weeks has become quite “boring”. The fact that many players use the same type of team compositions like Chemtech, Divine has become increasingly popular, as these are considered the strongest playstyles at the moment. This has led to the absolute dominance of names like Galio and Kai’Sa.

So why has the meta become so “boring”? The answer likely lies in the fact that Riot Games has continuously nerfed reroll compositions recently, making this playstyle incredibly weak. The first name affected in patch 11.24 was Katarina, as this champion and her “signature” item, the Shuriken, received severe damage nerfs. As a result, Katarina no longer has the ability to effectively assassinate targets, and this playstyle has gradually been “forgotten”.

Next, the Trundle reroll composition also got heavily nerfed as the amount of stats the unit could steal and its ability to slow attack speed were reduced. Even the Protector – Marksman reroll composition suffered nerfs when units like Garen and Kassadin had their defensive capabilities decreased. Clearly, when a series of reroll compositions are nerfed like this, the pace of each Teamfight Tactics match will slow down, allowing strong team comps at level 8 and above to dominate.
Additionally, we need to mention the design of Riot’s 4-5 cost champions, which is encountering some issues. If you notice, support-oriented champions at the 4-5 cost are too perfect and can fit into many team compositions, such as Janna and Yuumi. As a result, players are always trying to aim for these champions, making the way players build teams monotonous as they only change the main carry while the basic framework remains the same.

Moreover, the overwhelming dominance of expensive carries is causing them to become uncontrollable. Kai’Sa and Galio are prime examples, possessing too many powerful tools to deal damage very safely. For Galio, it’s the inherent “tanky” nature of the Giant system, allowing this unit to hold full damage items while still surviving well. Meanwhile, Kai’Sa has the inherent ability to dash out of danger and continuously deal damage to opponents.

If those units encounter energy or healing issues, simply standing in the Divine space resolves everything. Just like units such as Janna and Yuumi, Divine champions also fit into every team composition, thus increasing the monotony in gameplay.

In conclusion, with the heavy nerfing of reroll compositions but “forgetting” to adjust the 4-5 cost units, Riot has made the Teamfight Tactics meta increasingly boring. Perhaps Riot needs to implement reasonable adjustments to address the current situation of players “spamming” Kai’Sa – Divine or Chemtech as they are right now.
