One of the most interesting aspects of Teamfight Tactics Season 6 is the diversity of team compositions, making every match a unique experience. It’s rare for a composition to be deemed terrible or out of meta, as simply having the right tech core can help players secure victories, even if the theoretical chance of landing in the top 4 is low.

However, over the past week, this diversity has gradually disappeared, replaced by a “spam” playstyle centered around Kai’Sa – the Star Guardian, particularly at higher ranks. The reason is obviously that Kai’Sa is one of the strongest core units in the game, and the Star Guardian trait provides too many stats. However, having 2-3 players in the same match all aiming for this team composition is quite problematic.
In fact, during the latest stream of T1’s “super player” – Bebe872, he felt compelled to criticize this boring meta. He stated that he didn’t even know what to do to escape the “spam” playstyle of Kai’Sa – Star Guardian despite trying his best. T1’s Bebe872 described his recent experience playing Teamfight Tactics in just two words: “painful.”
T1 Bebe872: “This Kai’Sa meta has been going on for over 4 days now. It’s so painful, what can I do to escape it? I execute every step perfectly, from getting a losing streak, leveling up, then rolling for Kai’Sa, Galio 1 star. Yet when I look over at others, there are at least 2 players with Kai’Sa, Galio 2 star, equipped with fully upgraded 4-cost units. Please, Riot, make this boring meta end.”

Of course, as a 5-cost carry, every unit is extremely powerful. However, what sets Kai’Sa apart from other champions is her ability to move to safety while also dealing massive damage with her ability. Combined with frontline units that are both tanky and provide strong crowd control like Sion and Galio, Kai’Sa becomes increasingly difficult to catch in the late game, having ample time to deal damage.

Moreover, Kai’Sa’s dashing ability serves as a natural counter to 4-cost carries like Jhin and Lux, as she can easily dodge their abilities. If you choose to use melee carries, they are easily drawn in by large champions as mentioned above. All these factors combine to make the Kai’Sa – Star Guardian team composition incredibly strong with very few weaknesses. Perhaps Riot needs to heavily nerf the champion Kai’Sa in the next patch to put an end to this “spam” of this unit.
