Evidence Shows Riot’s League of Legends Adjustments Are Quite “Clumsy”, Considering Removing Chemtech Dragon for Being “Too Broken”

Riot is showing "clumsiness" in adjusting League of Legends.

As of now, League of Legends has entered its 12th season, and since its initial release in October 2009, this national MOBA title has existed for over 12 years. Throughout the history of this game, Riot has made countless adjustments, additions, and many champions and new mechanics have been introduced. Currently, League of Legends is both a “national” game worldwide and hosts numerous bugs, glitches, and champions that are “overly powerful”.

But even as players complain day in and day out, Riot remains “unfazed” and the bugs will naturally still be there. Recently, players found it both funny and frustrating when August – the champion designer at Riot, posted updates about his team researching adjustments for the new champion Zeri.

Zeri has 5 bugs, I fixed 3, now she has 6 bugs

While it’s clear that Riot August is not being 100% serious, it is apparent that Riot is somewhat struggling to reduce the overwhelming power of the characters they created themselves. A prime example is Zeri, who just launched and already players have discovered her terrifying “speed hack” mechanism, or the fact that she can one-shot the enemy’s Nexus turret.

Additionally, another piece of evidence showing the clumsiness in creating new champions and mechanics by Riot, which have a significant impact on League of Legends. Just about a day ago, a Riot employee revealed that the company is conducting a survey. If the negative feedback about the Chemtech Dragon – a new dragon buff added by Riot since the Pre-Season is too much and beyond the ability to adjust, it is very likely that Riot will consider removing this buff altogether.

If the Chemtech Dragon does indeed disappear in the next few updates, it will be one of the shortest-lived mechanics in the history of League of Legends. However, perhaps Riot will only adjust this buff because Elemental Dragons are crucial mechanics that have a significant impact on League of Legends matches. Not to mention, Riot has allowed players to experience it in both the PBE and Pre-Season, so it’s unlikely that Riot will “self-destruct” as many LoL fans predict.
