From the very first cinematic video of the 2022 season, we can feel that Ornn is a highly significant champion, especially in terms of lore. Even in promotional images for League of Legends, Ornn appears as a guardian deity for other characters in a major battle, likely against the Void in this season.

As grand as that may seem, in reality, Ornn has been treated quite poorly by Riot in League of Legends. Specifically, players have recently discovered that Ornn’s E ability – Searing Charge sometimes fails to knock up enemies even when it hits both enemy champions and terrain. The funny thing is that this skill still deals damage, meaning it works normally, but the knock-up effect has been completely “nerfed.”
It has even been discovered that not only does Ornn lose the ability to knock up enemies, but he also stuns himself for one second when this bug occurs. Some players humorously commented that perhaps Ornn himself doesn’t understand why his skill isn’t functioning normally, which is why he stands still to ponder this issue.

According to investigations by the “bug expert” Vandiril, this issue usually occurs when Ornn uses his E – Searing Charge very close to terrain. It is likely that the game recognizes that Ornn cannot knock up at his initial position when casting the skill, so using the skill too close to the terrain triggers this “feature.” Clearly, this is quite unreasonable as we can see that damage from the E skill is still dealt, meaning it functions normally, except for the knock-up part.

We need to remember that Ornn is a very important champion in professional tournaments, possessing tankiness and greatly assisting teammates in scaling power. While this character may not be very popular in solo queue, he remains a safe choice in tournaments. Hopefully, Riot Games will implement reasonable adjustments soon so that Ornn does not encounter the aforementioned bug and to prevent it from affecting professional tournaments in the future.
