After two matches against Bilibili Gaming and ThunderTalk Gaming, Weibo Gaming’s strength raises a big question mark. Fans are starting to doubt the championship potential of SofM and his teammates. Despite having two “gods” of the LPL, TheShy and SofM, they couldn’t even secure a win against BLG without Uzi. Moreover, they allowed TT – a team at the bottom of the standings – to secure one game win and even came close to deciding the match.

In the match against Anyone’s Legend, WBG was still considered the superior team in every aspect, from player quality to reputation… And in game 1, SofM and his teammates proved the correctness of this assessment. Gwen in TheShy’s hands was indeed terrifying, and he was the one who made the perfect “setup” for Corki of Angel to “clean up”, bringing victory in game 1 for WBG.

However, even after completely destroying the opponent in game 1, fans still doubted a convincing victory from WBG. The simple reason is that SofM and his teammates often tend to “choke” in game 2, turning what should be an easy win into a difficult match. A prime example is the victory against TT when WBG allowed their opponents to equalize after two games. In fact, when witnessing game 3 where WBG crushed TT, fans even wondered why SofM and his teammates could lose such a bitter game 2.

And in reality, the match seemed to show that WBG was also “trying” to prove the audience’s doubts were valid. TheShy was camped on top, the bottom lane did not create a significant advantage while SofM failed to control the Dragon buffs. With TheShy focusing on farming, WBG even changed their name to “Lost Dragon Gaming” as they allowed AL to secure all 4 Dragon buffs and obtain Dragon Soul. Not to mention, AL constantly won team fights before major objectives. However, Angel and TheShy farmed well, and with WBG having more towers, AL could not fully exploit their advantage. Just one winning team fight at the end of the match, WBG concluded the entire game with a score of 2-0.

It can be said that this was a somewhat “lucky yet skillful” victory for WBG. SofM and his teammates were undeniably good, especially TheShy – Angel. But they were also fortunate that AL was too weak and could not capitalize on their advantages. With this victory, WBG finished the second week of competition perfectly with two consecutive wins. Setting a good precedent before facing tougher opponents ahead.
