T1 Speaks Out About Gumayusi in EWC 2024 Clip but Fans Are Even More Frustrated
As reported, recently, T1 completely cut out Gumayusi’s trophy-lifting scene from the EWC 2024 footage for reasons unknown. Notably, he was the standout player for T1 in this tournament, significantly contributing to T1’s victory over BLG. In fact, Gumayusi was recognized as a representative player of Fearless Draft as he utilized 10 different champions across 10 games at EWC 2024.

Recently, T1 had to re-upload the clip, now featuring all members, including Gumayusi. However, the subsequent explanation from the most successful team in League of Legends history left many fans feeling disrespected, and they began to look down on Gumayusi: the editing team was careless with the images and content.

Because anyone can understand that for media products to be published on various platforms, they must go through multiple approval steps to avoid any potential mistakes. However, the clip was released on YouTube, and T1 had to wait almost a day before it was addressed. There are even many opinions suggesting that if the dislike count hadn’t been so high (recorded over 10k by the afternoon of February 14), and there weren’t too many critical comments, no one would have known if T1 had edited and re-uploaded a new clip.
Moreover, considering that he is one of the most consistently performing and outstanding players on T1, the absence of Gumayusi should have been a concern right from the start. Instead, the product was rendered into a complete clip and uploaded. It can be said that T1’s apology was merely… “for show.”

The Outrage from Gumayusi’s Fans and T1 Fans Is Far from Over
Although T1 re-uploaded the clip with all four remaining members after Zeus left, fans might only let this incident slide this time. Meanwhile, all the remaining drama surrounding Gumayusi is still intact. Not to mention, this incident could provide another reason for anti-fans to attack Gumayusi, further complicating matters in the future.
