Alongside the race for the top spot in the LPL Spring 2022 standings, fans of this tournament have been keenly interested in when Uzi would make his return. The reason is that even though it was announced that he joined Bilibili Gaming, in recent weeks, it has been Doggo who has been the starting player instead of Uzi. This young player has performed exceptionally well, making Uzi’s return to the LPL seem increasingly distant.
However, Bilibili Gaming recently surprised the audience by bringing Uzi back for the match against Invictus Gaming yesterday (February 17). Even upon his return, Uzi showcased several shining moments to help BLG avoid a clean sweep loss and even had the chance to defeat the opponent. Nevertheless, on a day when the young players from IG performed exceptionally well, Uzi helplessly watched as his team lost the match with a score of 1-2.
The truth is that in this match, Uzi did not play poorly at all as he coordinated well with Crisp and established a solid Bottom Lane for BLG. However, that was not enough as BLG’s Mid-Jungle duo had a truly ineffective performance, especially Fofo in the Mid Lane. For instance, in the decisive game 3, this guy, even while playing a very safe champion like Orianna, allowed the opponent to get a solo kill. Moreover, in the final team fight, Fofo was taken down while his ultimate ability was still intact.
Clearly, with the way Uzi was let down on his return, Fofo and to some extent the Jungler WeiWei have received heavy criticism from the audience. Furthermore, the choice of Uzi’s former teammate Letme while watching this match has raised significant questions about Fofo’s selections as he believes Viktor and Orianna are not suitable for the team composition BLG currently has.
That being said, Doggo’s performances from the beginning of the season have allowed the members of BLG to become somewhat accustomed to this team operation. Therefore, when replacing Uzi, a superstar, into the lineup, the fact that other players have not adapted in time is unavoidable. A bright spot from yesterday’s match for BLG was that Uzi still played extremely well and showed no signs of being “outmeta” at all.
Fortunately for BLG, in the next two matches, they will only face weaker teams like Anyone’s Legend or Team WE. This is a great opportunity for them to get used to playing with Uzi in preparation for the intensely competitive race for the top 6 and top 4 in the upcoming final stage of the group round.
