In the past few weeks, Cloud9 and Coach LS have perhaps been the most talked-about names in Western League of Legends. The reason is that this coach has brought Cloud9 an incredibly interesting, creative playstyle that has thrilled viewers. Many even argue that C9 and LS have made the seemingly dull LCS much more exciting. Fans are even looking forward to seeing unusual picks beyond Ivern and Soraka Mid whenever C9 plays in the LCS.

However, Cloud9 recently made a very puzzling decision to fire Coach LS despite the team having a record of 3 wins – 1 loss in the 2022 Spring LCS. In fact, immediately after LS was fired, Cloud9 suffered a painful defeat against the team sitting at the bottom of the standings, Counter Logic Gaming. When this news broke, many experts and professional players claimed that the LCS was no longer worth watching.

After the decision to fire LS was made, the coach returned to South Korea shortly after and resumed his career as a streamer. During a stream watching the LCS yesterday – February 23, LS shared that his time working at Cloud9 was considered a success for him, even though it was short-lived. However, LS asserted that he would take legal action against Cloud9 for firing him before the end of his contract, stating that he would never coach again.

Essentially, LS is an expert with a very different and interesting perspective on League of Legends. Additionally, he is also a fairly skilled player, having achieved Diamond – Master rank on the Korean server. Therefore, having LS as a coach would help any team perform better and add significant entertainment value during matches. Cloud9 in the first two weeks of the LCS is a perfect example of this.
Hopefully, the situation between Cloud9 and LS will soon be clarified so that the audience knows what really happened. If Cloud9 fired this coach for some ridiculous reason, they deserve the criticism and “roasting” directed at them recently.
