Former RNG Coach Reveals T1’s “Bitter” Story Ahead of Worlds 2025
For the League of Legends community, especially the teams participating in Worlds, there have been two contrasting faces of T1 over the years. One is a T1 that has struggled, at times appearing very weak during most of the season, including domestic leagues and MSI. But when it comes to Worlds, T1 always showcases a terrifying performance. This has allowed Faker and his teammates to win the Worlds championship two years in a row recently, but it also brings a harsh truth.

According to former RNG coach KenZhu, he recently admitted: “T1 is too strong, and I think none of the 7 teams from the LCK – LPL participating in this Worlds want T1 to get past the Play-In stage. Once T1 reaches the Main Event of Worlds, they can defeat anyone. This is not just a formality; it’s a real battle.”
In reality, the former RNG coach’s assessment may seem a bit “harsh” for T1, but it could very well be the truth. Because even at their lowest performance and with objective factors not in their favor, T1 still has an absolutely successful Worlds. Therefore, this team should not be underestimated, especially as they prepare to enter the tournament where they are still the reigning champions.

T1 is Still Highly Rated Against IG
Against the opponent IG, T1 is still rated highly and of course, a victory means this team will officially be part of the Main Event. Certainly, nothing can be taken for granted, but as former coach KenZhu shared, T1 at Worlds is a completely different T1 compared to before.
However, T1 cannot be complacent. This team has shown fluctuations, and especially subjective factors have caused T1 to “regret” on several occasions. Against opponents like IG, just one mistake could be costly, especially since this is Worlds and all teams will be very determined.
