Infinity Edge
There’s probably no need for an introduction, as we all understand the dominance of Infinity Edge in Teamfight Tactics. With an effect that increases critical strike chance by 75% and a massive amount of critical damage, Infinity Edge has long been the most effective physical damage item in the game. In fact, when combined with the Gemstone Gauntlet, this item even allows magical damage dealers to easily “wipe out” the opponent’s team whenever they cast their spells.

However, this item had a significant counter in Static Shiv, which reduced 100% of the additional damage from critical strike effects. But this is no longer entirely true in patch 12.5, as the damage reduction ability of Static Shiv has been nerfed to only 80%, although the damage reflected around has been buffed. Therefore, tank champions have become “softer” compared to before, and Infinity Edge has become an even more dominant item.
Morello’s Evil Tome
From version 12.4, Morello’s Evil Tome was already a very strong item in season 6.5, as the new champion Renata used it exceptionally well in the Brawler composition. The return of the Innovator team also made this item significantly stronger, as Ekko uses it very effectively with his area damage ability. Given that healing has become more prevalent in Teamfight Tactics, Morello’s Evil Tome is now more important than ever.

Even moving into patch 12.5, this item remains among the most frequently crafted items and has one of the highest top 4 rates. The reason is that the Gang team is rising as a force, and to counter its powerful healing effect, Morello’s Evil Tome is the most suitable item. Additionally, the hot units of the Gang team like Morgana, Braum, and Zyra also use this item well, so it’s easy to understand why Morello’s Evil Tome is becoming increasingly popular in “auto chess.”
Static Shiv
Among the counter items in Teamfight Tactics, Static Shiv is considered the most powerful but also very difficult to use effectively. This item forces players to have keen observation skills to reposition their pieces in time to affect the key unit of the enemy team. Therefore, Static Shiv always has a very high win rate or top 4 rate, despite not dealing a lot of damage.

This item has become even more important in patch 12.5 as a series of compositions utilizing units with high maximum energy or requiring quick casting return to the meta. The most notable examples are the Gang team with Ashe or Ahri as the main carries. Furthermore, compositions related to Innovators, Mechs, and using Jhin, Orianna are also heavily countered by Static Shiv. Therefore, if possible, you should acquire this item towards the end of the game to secure a position in the top 4.
