T1 entered the “Media War” against KT Rolster in complete comfort as their goal of reaching the LCK Spring 2022 playoffs had been fulfilled. With a 13-game unbeaten streak leading up to this match, T1 was expected to equal SKT T1’s record of 14 consecutive games without a loss set back in Summer 2015. If they maintain their form, the next milestone would be the 18-game unbeaten streak of Invictus Gaming from Spring 2018, as well as becoming the first team in League of Legends history to go undefeated in the group stage.

T1 had a favorable start in Game 1, taking major objectives like towers and Rift Herald early on. KT had the advantage in team fights but did not convert it into any significant benefits. In the 22nd minute, KT turned the game around by taking down 4 of T1’s players and securing Baron. However, in the 35th minute, T1 responded by eliminating Cuzz, VicLa, and Aiming, leaving Rascal and Life powerless. T1 took the lead after a tense match.
However, KT proved that they were not a “pushover”. In Game 2, KT had the early advantage. However, the fall of Faker and VicLa from KT opened up a prolonged team fight. KT gained an advantage and began to ramp up the pace of the game to take towers. But a disastrous team fight in the 28th minute cost KT all their advantages. Despite that, KT later had a beautiful team fight at the Dragon pit, where a crucial play sent Aiming and KT into a precarious position. T1 revived and secured a very hard-fought victory.
With the victory over KT Rolster, T1 officially secured 14 consecutive wins, matching the record set by SKT T1 back in Summer 2015. Faker’s performance on LeBlanc was particularly outstanding. As for KT, it is unfortunate for this team that they played exceptionally well against the “undefeated champion” T1. Notably, Aiming almost became the hero if not for the disastrous play at the end of Game 2.
In the upcoming matches, Faker and his teammates have every opportunity to extend their winning streak. For T1 fans, besides striving for the best group stage record in League of Legends history, everyone certainly hopes that Faker and his teammates will win the LCK Spring 2022, as a well-deserved reward for their efforts throughout the season so far.
