Faker is indeed a legend in the world of League of Legends, not only as an inspiration but also. For over 9 years, Faker’s burning desire to compete has never seemed to cool down. However, one thing that has always changed over the years is his appearance.

So let’s take a look back at the 9-year career of the “Demon King”, from his debut days until now. Let’s see how he has changed his appearance.

This is the year of Faker’s debut when he officially competed in the LCK – the highest-level League of Legends tournament in Korea. At the same time, in this year, Faker “opened his account” with a record of kills by solo killing Ambition – one of the best players in Korean League of Legends at the time.

2014

After a highly successful debut year in 2013, especially with SKT T1 winning the 2013 World Championship, Faker attracted a large number of League of Legends fans. Along with that came a plethora of media channels and advertising brands closely following him. In fact, Faker became one of the few players to win a World Championship title in his very first year of his career.

2015

This year witnessed not only Faker at the peak of his career but also a very strong T1 team with players like MaRin, Bengi, and the duo Bang – Wolf. This year can be considered as the beginning of the most glorious period in the “Demon King’s” career. It’s a pity for Faker and his teammates that they couldn’t achieve a Grand Slam title when they were defeated by EDward Gaming in the MSI 2015 finals.

2016

For many, especially Faker’s fans, 2016 might be the year when SKT T1 gathered the most formidable lineup. But 2016 also marked the year that the name SKT T1, and Faker in particular, became legendary. Faker and SKT T1 became the first and only team to date to defend their World Championship title. The “Demon King” and his close teammate Bengi became the only two players to have three World Championship titles.

2017

From 2017 onwards, the looks of the “Demon King” took a significant leap, with the highlight certainly being his new pair of glasses. Faker seemed to have found the perfect frame for himself. Still in familiar black, but now the frame is thinner and the lenses larger, giving him a more intellectual and bright appearance.

His new glasses seemingly make Faker look more handsome and brighter.

However, the glasses didn’t bring good luck to Faker at the World Championship that year. Although he and SKT T1 won the Spring 2017 and MSI 2017 titles, they only finished as runners-up in both the Summer 2017 LCK and that year’s World Championship. Notably, in both finals, SKT T1 was defeated by teams from the same LCK as them: Longzhu Gaming and Samsung Galaxy.

2018

The year 2018 can be considered quite sad for the “Demon King” as he could not participate in the 2018 World Championship. But it cannot be denied that the “Director Lee’s” looks were getting more refined. This could be seen as the year Faker began to shape his handsome appearance and style, which continues to this day.

2019 – 2020 – 2021

From 2019 to the present, Faker has not changed much in appearance. However, he has successfully maintained his good looks during this time.

In a way, Faker has also gotten used to being a famous person and the face of several well-known brands. Therefore, taking care of himself is not something to criticize but should be encouraged and supported.

2022

Faker had a streak of 14 wins in the LCK Spring 2022 with T1. The journey to conquer the LCK title for Faker and his teammates is looking very “bright” as they demonstrate their terrifying strength against other competitors. As for his image, Faker is now a more composed player than before, more mature and sensible, embodying the figure of an experienced leader. Faker and his teammates are highly rated with hopes of capturing as many titles as possible this year.
