On the final day of the eighth week of the LCK Spring 2022, T1 faced off against Fredit BRION – a team that was also performing well and full of hope for the playoffs. However, the hopes for a tense showdown, especially the battle between “Sir” Morgan and Zeus in the top lane, quickly vanished. Just before the match, BRO announced that their entire main roster tested positive for COVID-19.

With the match imminent, BRO had to call up their Challengers team to play in place of their sick teammates. For those who don’t know, BRO CL is competing in the LCK CL and is currently sitting at a terrible rank, only 8th out of 10. Therefore, even the most optimistic fans of BRO didn’t dare to hope that this team would pull off a surprise. And indeed, the reality of the match played out just as expected.
A young, inexperienced team with inferior skills facing the “unstoppable force” T1 was a challenge too great for BRO CL. Faker and his teammates quickly decimated their younger opponents in an instant. In fact, both teams didn’t even need Baron to resolve the match. The game concluded with a total playtime of just about 40 minutes for both games, leaving the audience stunned.
On social media, most opinions expressed regret for the BRO players who fell ill at such an inopportune time. Many words of comfort were sent to the members of BRO CL who faced an overwhelmingly difficult challenge. Some even stated that this was an extremely boring match and that T1’s victory was “a foregone conclusion.”

However, some opinions stated that T1 still played seriously and showed professionalism and respect towards BRO CL. But the gap between the two sides was too clear, and BRO was almost powerless against the T1 players.

Regardless, with this victory, T1 is guaranteed to be at the top of the table as the LCK Spring 2022 group stage concludes. However, entering the playoffs will be tougher when teams will surely return with their full rosters. That’s when the real challenges will come, and T1 will have the chance to prove their ambitions and potential to claim the title in LCK Spring 2022 and beyond at the upcoming MSI 2022.
