Following the tremendous success of Season 1, Arcane, the animated film inspired by the League of Legends game, produced in collaboration with Riot and Fortiche, has officially begun production for its next installment. Not stopping there, Riot has recently made “stirring” moves to delve deeper into the film industry in the future.

Specifically, Riot has recently confirmed an investment to acquire shares in Fortiche. Two Riot directors, Brian Wright (Creative Content Director) and Brendan Mulligan (Business Development Director), have joined the board of Fortiche after Riot officially became a shareholder of this film production company. This is seen as a way for Riot to easily bring its ideas to life on the big screen.
Previously, both parties had collaborated multiple times, producing impressive products. The first product that Riot Games and Fortiche collaborated on was the music video “Get Jinxed” to celebrate the launch of the Rebel Cannon. Following this success were equally notable products including: Warriors, Enemy, POP STARS, Rise.

Most notably among all is undoubtedly their brainchild named Arcane. This is perhaps the most successful collaboration between the two after more than a decade of working together. Arcane proudly held the number 1 position on Netflix globally in November 2021, alongside an astonishing 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes (a prestigious film quality rating). Additionally, Arcane also outperformed competitors at the Annie Awards, becoming the most nominated and awarded television program of the year (with 9 awards).

Some additional information about the production company Fortiche. This is an animation studio headquartered in Paris, established in 2009. Since its inception, the company has continuously improved its graphic style to create its unique identity. With a unique combination of 2D and 3D and the distinctive directing style of its directors, Fortiche has become a new and prominent name in the animation film industry.
After League of Legends, Valorant is rumored to be the next title that will have the opportunity to create its own cinematic universe, as Riot now has a talented and massive film crew from Fortiche. Meanwhile, League of Legends still has many unexplored territories outside of Piltover and Zaun that the producers can delve into and reveal to audiences on the big screen.

Regardless, we are eagerly awaiting Riot Games’ next steps on their filmmaking journey. Hopefully, Riot and especially the producer Fortiche will deliver even more cinematic masterpieces in the future.
